Instructional Innovation Specialist

Responsibilities

Collaborates with faculty to design, revise, and enhance courses across modalities (online, hybrid, in-person), using research-based instructional design principles
Supports faculty development by facilitating workshops, delivering one-on-one consultations, and contributing to best practices in instructional design
Provides training and support to faculty on pedagogy, instructional technologies, accessibility, quality course design, and inclusive teaching practices
Develops and maintains supplemental resources and tutorials to assist faculty and students in effectively utilizing instructional technologies while ensuring compliance with accessibility standards
Integrates emerging technologies and multimedia tools such as immersive learning experiences, and professional video production into course design and delivery
Assists with design and implementation of new courses, revision of existing courses, and ADA accessible instructional materials
Designs and implements assessments, instructional materials, and strategies that enhance learning experiences for all students, including those with diverse needs and abilities
Provides support and feedback for teaching faculty
Stays informed on trends in learning science, digital pedagogy, and emerging educational technologies
Evaluates tools for instructional value and participates in pilot programs or trials of new tools
Supports institutional initiatives focused on assessment and continuous course improvement

Required

Bachelor's degree and relevant program experience

Preferred

Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or a directly related field
Three years of experience in instructional design or instructional technology
Instructional experience in higher education
Working with faculty to develop quality online instruction
Using Quality Matters or similar rubric/standards
Developing accessible electronic tutorials and learning objects
