Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance on residential HVAC systems, including cleaning, inspections, and minor adjustments
Assist senior technicians with diagnostic testing and minor repairs
Identify and document potential system issues and recommend solutions
Ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely according to manufacturer guidelines
Maintain accurate service records and documentation for customer and company use
Adhere to all company safety protocols and industry best practices
Provide professional and courteous service to customers
Explain maintenance findings and recommendations in a clear, customer-friendly manner
Offer and explain Cooper Heating and Cooling’s GCM maintenance plans to customers as part of proactive system care
Build rapport with customers to establish trust and long-term service relationships
Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to ensure a consistent and professional customer experience
Participate in ongoing company-sponsored training and mentorship programs
Work toward obtaining industry certifications such as EPA and NATE
Gain hands-on experience to transition into higher roles within the company
Show consistent progression in skills and responsibilities as part of the company’s structured technician development path
Follow all company policies and safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment
Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized
Complete required paperwork and service documentation accurately and on time
Participate in the company’s on-call rotation, including holidays, for emergency maintenance services as experience progresses
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in or a graduate of a technical training program, or equivalent field experience
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical aptitude
Strong willingness to learn and grow within the industry
Must actively participate in training and show progression in skills
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Punctuality and reliability are essential
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift up to 75 lbs
EPA certification required for any refrigerant-related maintenance
