Tenure-Track, Assistant Professor; Occupational & Environmental Health & Safety
The University of North Alabama is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Engineering and Industrial Professions Department. The successful candidate will have primary teaching responsibilities in the Occupational & Environmental Health and Safety concentration, engaging in scholarly activities and contributing to ABET accreditation and industry partnerships.

Responsibilities
Teach courses in the OEHS concentration related to (but not limited to) ergonomics, safety/environmental regulations, physical agents, hazardous materials, and industrial hygiene
Develop new courses and applied learning experiences as program needs evolve
Maintain and enhance laboratory facilities associated with OEHS
Recruit, advise, and mentor students in Engineering Technology
Engage in scholarly activity related to occupational and environmental health and safety
Participate in university, college, department, and professional service
Support the department’s ongoing ABET accreditation processes
Develop and maintain relationships with regional industries to support applied learning and workforce development
Qualification
Required
A PhD in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Safety Sciences/Safety Engineering, Environmental/Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required
A minimum of five years of industry experience in occupational and environmental health and safety is required
Preferred
Relevant professional certifications (CIH, CSP, CHMM) are preferred
