They are seeking a Lab Technician in the Physical Testing group who will be responsible for testing and preparing specimens, monitoring test equipment, and issuing data reports.

Responsibilities

Perform testing of slab, bonded, and molded polyurethane cellular products such as but not limited to the tests listed in ASTM D3574-11, ISO 1798 etc

Move weights (up to 45 lbs.) associated with static fatigue tests

Develop proficiency in the operation of the equipment and software used to measure compression and tensile strength of test specimens

Maintain organized files and manage project timelines

Monitor and operate environmental chambers and ovens used to age samples

Prepare sample with a die-cut press and/or table band saw according to the appropriate test standard with a full working knowledge of the aforementioned cutting equipment and associated personal protective equipment (PPE)

Operate dynamic fatigue test equipment

Record test results and update LIMS software as appropriate

Create and issue data reports to the requesting group or individual at the RTC using MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, and Zwick TestXpert software

Assist in other Material Testing areas and with the Polymer Products group members on development and testing activities when time permits

Maintain a tidy and organized work space
