Responsibilities
To plan, organize, and provide rigorous, engaging instructional experiences for students by employing a total approach involving teaching of academics, communication, vocational, motor, self-help and social subject matter to improve and assist each student in taking his/her place in society
To track student progress, reflect, and make adjustments to ensure student academic growth; the job goals are in alignment with the COMPASS teaching rubric components
Qualification
Required
Special Education certified as set forth in Louisiana Standards for State Certification of School Personnel (Bulletin 746)
Ability to plan, organize, and provide rigorous, engaging instructional experiences for students
Ability to employ a total approach involving teaching of academics, communication, vocational, motor, self-help and social subject matter
Ability to track student progress, reflect, and make adjustments to ensure student academic growth
Ability to align job goals with the COMPASS teaching rubric components
Ability to perform assigned duties without significant risk of substantial harm to his/her own safety/security and the safety/security of others
Ability to lift thirty to forty pounds and perform brief periods of heavy muscular exertion
Completion of an official State application including all relevant education and experience
Submission of an official college transcript to verify credentials claimed prior to appointment
