Responsibilities
Maintains and operates specialized vehicles, equipment, and tools including dump trucks with plow and sanders to perform snow removal duties
Maintains records of assignments completed
Ensures compliance with all organizational values, policies, procedures
Works on call as needed during the winter season which includes nights, weekends, and holidays
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history
Knowledge of equipment, materials, techniques, and supplies used in snow removal
Skill in verbal and written communication
Ability to perform assigned work independently with direction
Ability to work twelve- (12) hour shifts during emergency conditions on short notice
Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time outside and in all weather conditions
Ability to identify and implement risk management techniques to reduce exposure to injury, damage, and liability
Ability to adhere to all applicable work safety rules, procedures and equipment operations as presented
Ability to coordinate activities with other individuals within the department
Ability to operate heavy equipment as needed
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff and the public
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Preferred
A valid Class B Commercial Driver License issued by the State of Colorado, with air brakes and tanker endorsements is preferred
Two (2) seasons of snow removal experience with a municipal agency is preferred
