Responsibilities
Processing specimens for laboratory analysis
Performing molecular and serological based assays
Perform necropsy of animals for Rabies testing
Performing test validations
Drafting, writing and/or updating SOPs and grants
Evaluating quality control and performing corrective actions
Performing instrument maintenance
Troubleshooting interfaces between laboratory equipment and laboratory information systems
Monitoring testing processes for accuracy and timeliness
Communicating with Epidemiologists and local partners
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science or related field or 4 years closely related experience
Previous experience working in a clinical or research lab
Previous experience with PCR
Good communication skills
Pass a criminal background check
Must meet CLIA education requirements for testing personnel in high complexity testing labs
Preferred
Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology, Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
Previous experience in performing immunoassays
Previous experience in performing Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
Basic knowledge of Molecular Biology
Basic knowledge of Medical Microbiology
