Environment Specialist Technician-Facilities Department

Odyssey House Louisiana, Inc. is seeking a full-time EVS Technician to join their mission of providing comprehensive care in Louisiana. The EVS Technician will be responsible for all housekeeping duties across the facilities, ensuring cleanliness and maintenance to meet employer standards.

Responsibilities

Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition
Perform mild cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, showers walls and drains, living; quarters, washing walls, windows, and handrails, removing debris and trash
Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies
Disinfect equipment and supplies, ensuring safe and sanitary storage and care of products
Polish furniture and room accessories as needed
Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors
Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered on job
Monitor chemicals by tracking chemicals with sign in/out sheet
Maintaining daily log of duties perform and time
Clean rooms, hallways, dining rooms and group rooms, restrooms, corridors, stairways, dorm rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met
Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
Transport of supplies (will be reimbursed for travel)
Empty all trash, clean dining rooms and kitchens at all location (if one is available)
Coordinate with other staff and supervisor daily to ensure that services are provided in an efficient and timely manner
Perform or assist with cleaning duties as needed
Confer with staff to discuss company policies for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created
Light maintenance work
Meal pick-up and drop-off for the Detox Program, breakfast at 6am, lunch at 11am and dinner at 4pm)
Deep clean all facilities every two weeks
Clean facility floors once a week at Administrative offices
Clean bathroom floors twice a week; and
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

General knowledge of cleaning products, supplies, and techniques for cleaning
Reliable and punctual with a dedicated professionalism to job and duties
Excellent communication skills

Ability to work well alone, or with a partner or team
Ability to adapt to changing schedules or routines
Ability to assist team members with cleaning duties when needed
Detail-oriented
Reliable mode of transportation

Preferred

2 or more years' experience with commercial cleaning services
Advanced knowledge of cleaning products, implements and practices
