Responsibilities
Designing and implementing TSM, Avamar and Networker servers across the sites and perform administrative activities like backup management, capacity management, etc. and leverage it to the operations team
Implemented the designed Networker data zone at multiple datacenters configured the libraries and data domains to be ready for backups and restores
Performed migration of clients from old Networker data zones to the new Networker data zones
Customizing the backup environment, managing number of groups, number of clients in each group, backup schedule times, and configuring policy directive resource
Configuring Data Domain to Networker for de-duplication using boost protocol
Setting up network environments using TCP/IP, NIS, NFS, DNS, SNMP, VSFTP and DHCP
Builds, Install, configure brand new virtual and physical servers, test, deploy RHEL 6 and 7, CentOS 6.4 servers to the network, OS installation and configuration – standard and advanced (net installation and jumpstart, kick start)
Installation, Configuration and maintenance of VMware in an Enterprise Environment and also configuring Virtual Machines on the VMware host
Primarily coordinate with various third-party teams (IBM, EMC and Red hat) across the globe, Delivery and Implementation Managers, and Consultants in monitoring, identifying and resolving client issues/requests /Incidents/Change Requests (RFC) and Problem Tickets
Experience on supporting heterogeneous environments with NetBackup
Configuration & management of Virtual Tape Libraries, Enterprise to mid-level tape libraries
Installing and configuring Avamar clients, SQL and oracle with DDBOOST
Monitoring System Performance of Virtual memory, Management Swap Space, Disk utilization and CPU utilization
Configuring and Maintaining LVM on Linux servers with flexibility of data storage and data migration
Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance
Customizing the backup environment, managing number of groups, number of clients in each group, backup schedule times and configuring policy directive resource
Configuring Data Domain to Networker for de-duplication using boost protocol
Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan the installation of a new system or modification of an existing system
Conduct network vulnerability assessments using tools to evaluate attack vectors, identify system vulnerabilities and develop remediation plans and security procedures
Upgrading backup agent and plugins on multiple backup clients for maintaining supports on all software
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering
5-10 years of IT Experience
Expertise in planning, designing and implementing complex enterprise backup and storage recovery solutions
Experience with TSM, LVM, SQL and oracle with DDBOOST, Avamar
Experience in designing and implementing TSM, Avamar and Networker servers
Experience in backup management and capacity management
Experience in configuring Data Domain to Networker for de-duplication using boost protocol
Experience in setting up network environments using TCP/IP, NIS, NFS, DNS, SNMP, VSFTP and DHCP
Experience in building, installing, configuring virtual and physical servers
Experience in installation, configuration and maintenance of VMware in an Enterprise Environment
Experience in coordinating with third-party teams (IBM, EMC and Red hat)
