Houchens Insurance Group is seeking December 2025 graduates for their Commercial Lines Client Associate I position as part of the HIG Academy. This immersive 6-week development program prepares candidates for a full-time role in client service, offering hands-on experience and mentorship in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

Provides daily support to Account Advisors and commercial insurance accounts

Preparing accurate, properly completed certificates of insurance

Confirming existence of coverage certified; checks for and secures missing information and authorization when necessary

Completing simple change requests, checks endorsements, cancellation endorsements and audits for accuracy and relevancy

Preparing accurate, properly completed auto ID cards; processes new business and renewal certificates, auto id’s, endorsements, cancellations, and audits

Following up on direct bill late payments and keeping Producer and Account Advisor informed

Preparing renewal files and renewal kits including ordering of loss runs and loss summaries

Learning all Commercial Lines service standards and procedures

Documenting all correspondence, follow up for necessary information updates at appropriate times, and keep the client files organized and up to date

Works together with team and with other departments, such as Marketing, Accounting, Claims, Producers, etc., this includes conferencing with Producer or Account Executive to discuss the execution of strategies

Manages PTO to work with departmental needs

Volunteers to back up and/or assist other associates as needed

Displays commitment and initiative to meet department and agency education goals as set forth in the organization’s education program

Required

December 2025 graduates or anyone with a passion for client service, business, or insurance

Strong communication and organizational skills

Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to a collaborative team environment

Willingness to relocate to one of HIG's office locations after the program concludes

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
