Cash Application Specialist-Not a Remote Position

Responsibilities

Requests remittances when none are provided to remove unidentified funds from unapplied/suspense account
Works misapplied monies requests received in a timely fashion, along with any cashier corrections received from staff or management
Posts adjustments according to explanation of benefits (EOB), including zero pay EOB's
Follows all open AR remits from onset through finalization in order to advise Cashier on when all mailboxes can be posted to clear the AR
Maintains working knowledge of electronic posting software and corrects any errors from any of electronic posting software
Notifies cash control team and management immediately of any processing problems with remits
Reviews and edits electronic remittance advices (ERAs) ready for posting to identify any exception to be corrected for posting
Supports the investigation and reconciliation of exception reports and resolves exceptions the same business day or within a reasonable time frame
Completes ERA/EFT documentation for new payors
Prepares IT requests for posting 835s electronically through the billing system
Performs other duties as assigned and adapts to changing departmental demands

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
One year experience in customer service, accounts receivable, cashier or billing required
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Must be self-sufficient with navigating various systems
Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
Proficient with remittance advice review
Ability to work independently as well as a team player
Ability to complete assignments within prescribed accuracy parameters and deadlines
