As a Senior Pre-Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring a streamlined and positive experience for ophthalmic patients and surgical teams by performing essential testing and supporting surgical decision-making.

Responsibilities

Efficiently and accurately performs and necessary Ophthalmic Testing (including but not limited to Biometry, Keratometry, Topography) needed for cataract surgery calculations

Demonstrate competency in answering patient questions regarding intraocular lens implants, surgical procedures, and post-operative medications

Utilizes diagnostic testing results to guide patient-centered, realistic IOL discussions that support understanding and surgical decision-making

Complete surgical charts and perform all necessary calculations, ensuring they are ready for final lens selection by the provider

Partners with leadership and peers to deliver comprehensive training to new team members, supporting a smooth transition into their roles

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required

Ability to get BLS (Basic Life Support) certified within 3 months of employment

Demonstrated proficiency of ophthalmic testing required (including but not limited to Biometry, Keratometry, Topography). Successful completion of competency assessment is mandatory

Proficiency in basic clinical math, with the ability to accurately analyze numerical data and apply it to clinical workflows, such as cataract lens calculations

Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Ability to raise hands and arms to shoulder level without restriction, pain, or discomfort

Ability to perform extended use of phones and computer terminals, as well as diagnostic equipment without pain or discomfort
