Avionics Mechanical Design Engineer II

The Avionics Mechanical Design Engineer II will own the design, analysis, and test/validation of mechanical products within the Terran R avionics system, collaborating closely with electrical engineers and ensuring seamless integration across teams.

Responsibilities
Own the design, analysis, and test/validation of mechanical products within the Terran R avionics system. Mechanical products include electronics enclosures, vibration isolation, thermal management, and environmental protection devices
Collaborate with electrical engineers to design robust, high-performance printed circuit board assemblies
Perform preliminary sizing for static and dynamic loads and thermal environments
Utilize 3D modeling and 2D drafting packages to deliver detailed designs with considerations for production and test
Validate designs for flight through rapid prototyping, analysis, and test campaigns
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a full cycle mechanical design engineering role
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field
Experience with 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software
Experience with structural and thermal analysis
Demonstrated project ownership and accountability with complex, multi-disciplinary technical projects
Preferred
Experience with the design of electronic assemblies, batteries, and/or vibration isolation systems
Experience with finite element analysis methods
Applied knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficient with NX/Teamcenter CAD package
