NEOGOV is seeking a Safety & Training Manager for the City of Greenville's Public Transportation department. This role involves overseeing safety and training programs for transit personnel, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and managing recruitment and training for Bus Operators.

Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate all safety and training programs and activities for Greenlink personnel

Develop and implement new-hire training program for Bus Operators and Bus Operators-in-Training

Conduct classroom-trainings including developing participant guides and presentation materials

Act as South Carolina (SC) Third Party Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Examiner

Track safety trends and report data to the National Transit Database (NTD)

Ensure compliance with OSHA industrial hygiene standards by conducting informal site reviews

Utilize facility and vehicle camera operational systems for investigations

Recruit, screen, and interview Bus/Trolley/Paratransit Operators and Bus Operator-in-Training Candidates

Serve as the Chief Safety Officer (CSO) in the administration of GTA's Agency Safety Plan

Assist the Operations division during departmental emergency operations

Conduct inspections of GTA vehicles and employee work sites

Required

Bachelors degree in industrial hygiene, occupational safety, or a related field that provides the skills and abilities to meet the requirements of the position

Documented experience may be substituted on a two (2) for one (1) basis

Over four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in transit safety and CDL operator training

Must have or obtain OSHA 30-Hour certification within one (1) year of hire

Must have or obtain South Carolina Certified Third Party Tester for CDL within one (1) year of hire

Must have or obtain Transportation Safety and Security Program certificate within three (3) years of hire date
