IT Trainer
Empire State is seeking an IT Trainer responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on training for various software applications and hardware resources utilized within the organization. The role involves designing and delivering training programs, developing instructional materials, and collaborating with IT staff to enhance content and support user engagement.

Responsibilities
Design and deliver IT training programs for diverse audiences
Develop and maintain up-to-date instructional materials (manuals, tutorials, FAQs)
Set up training environments, including necessary equipment and software
Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical users
Collaborate with IT staff and subject matter experts to validate, refine, and enhance content
Align training with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and industry trends
Serve as liaison among end users, leadership, and IT teams
Represent the voice of the user by collecting and communicating user feedback
Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust approaches as needed
Identify and assist in troubleshooting user-defined problems
Ensure the work is completed within the guidelines set by IT policies
Assist with ESD Disaster Recovery efforts, testing and documentation
Perform other related duties and projects as directed by IT Management
Position expected to work onsite and/or remote consistent with NYS and ESD guidelines and needs
Qualification
Required

This position will require in-office presence
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an IT related field; Or a 2-year degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience; Or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
Background in instructional design (via credentials or experience)
3-5 years' experience
Ability to work with a diverse group of people at both a functional and technical level and communicate at a level appropriate to audience
Experience working independently and as part of a team
Proven success delivering short-term, workplace-based IT training
Experience teaching adult learners with diverse technical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Expertise with Microsoft O365 applications
Customer-service orientation with strong interpersonal skills
