Responsibilities

Monitors youth behavior and corrects undesirable behavior
Enforces Rec Nite Rules and policies
Models respectful and positive behavior for middle school aged youth
Communicates effectively with participants, parents, volunteers and staff
Responds to incidents, conflicts, or emergencies using established procedures
Reports concerns or violations to Rec Nite Supervisor/Recreation Programmer
Assists with the collection of program fees
Assists with documentation of issues and reports
Maintains a safe and inclusive environment for participants
Sets up equipment and assists with program clean-up activities
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Must be 18 years of age or older and graduated High School
Ability to work Friday evenings during the school year
Ability to follow city/department/division policies, work independently and make sound decisions
Ability to communicate effectively and to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to count back change to participants
Maintain a positive behavior and professional demeanor at all times; address participant issues and behavior in a calm, appropriate manor
Ability to comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, and report all unsafe activities or conditions to supervisor

Preferred

Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications preferred or willing and able to obtain
