Responsibilities
Assist the Pharmacist in day to day tasks to prepare and dispense pharmaceutical drugs in accordance with standards, State and Federal laws, and department policies and procedures
Interact cooperatively and courteously with co-workers and healthcare providers to provide customers and patients excellent customer service with each request
Train new Pharmacy Technicians and mentor junior Pharmacy Technicians per management’s direction to assist with workflow and increase abilities within the department
Qualification
Required
High School graduate or equivalent
One year customer service experience
Pharmacy Technician registration or licensure OR an application for registration/licensure in pending status by the first date of employment. Registration/licensure must be obtained within 6 months and must remain in good standing and current
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certificate accredited by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcare Association (NHA)
Preferred
Associate of Pharmacy Technician degree or a Pharmacy Technician diploma
Two years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Knowledge of Wisconsin pharmacy law and third party reimbursement rules
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (ChPT)
