Alfred State College is seeking a live figure model to enhance the learning experience of students in their animation and digital media curriculum. The role involves modeling dynamic and static poses to help students understand form, gesture, movement, and anatomy, contributing to their foundational skills in these areas.

Responsibilities

Dramatically enhance students' learning by modelling dynamic and static poses ranging from short gestures of a few minutes to longer poses of an hour or more
Work in a respectful, studio environment alongside our faculty and students, supporting their creative process and visual education
Provide a human reference for form, motion, weight, balance and gesture, helping bridge theoretical learning and practical experience

Required

Confidence and professionalism in working as a live figure model
The ability to hold poses and re-pose on schedule, with sensitivity to gesture, stability and subtlety of form
A comfortable demeanor in a studio setting; note that nudity is part of the assignment, framed as a serious educational tool, not performance
Reliability, punctuality, and a collaborative spirit
Ability to stay relatively still for a period of time
Availability for Spring Semester 2026, during the daytime hours

Preferred

Prior experience modelling for figure drawing or life-drawing classes is preferred (though not strictly required)
