General Maintenance Technician III

The General Maintenance Technician III position is responsible for mid-level maintenance tasks, including responding to service calls, performing preventative maintenance, and overseeing maintenance projects to ensure the upkeep of the facility.

Responsibilities

Performs general and preventative maintenance: In hotel rooms, offices, common areas, locker rooms, spa and pool areas, gyms and any other area deemed necessary. Scope of maintenance includes but is not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, mechanical, fire/life safety, pool/water chemistry, tile/vinyl work and associated building trades. Assists in reconfigurations of furniture, gym equipment, medical equipment, etc. Performs routine, ongoing preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and repairs, accurately and timely
Responds to service calls, guests and staff requests and performs minor repairs and other assigned project work to include but not limited to internet/WIFI, television/phone, door locks/safes, etc. Refers guest issues or complaints to supervisor according to Canyon Ranch policy. Acts as hotel rooms/public areas guest and CR staff maintenance calls the first responder with a sense of urgency
Oversees completion of maintenance projects with daily reports to the supervisor
Provides training for new staff
Maintains a neat work space and storage area for parts and keeps an accurate inventory of parts. Documents, files, and keeps records organized for management follow-up or review

Required

Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Significant specialized experience (6-10 years' experience in same or related field)
Must possess a working knowledge of carpentry, tiling, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, cooling, and associated building trades
Must be able to perform or be capable of learning pool and spa care and gym equipment maintenance
Must understand and demonstrate Canyon Ranch's standards of excellence and meet them in work performance, ensuring the best guest experience
Must have good communication and writing skills; must be able to work with a variety of people
Must be able to work a flexible schedule
Must be able to work well under pressure and with deadlines
Must be able to work productively independently and/or with minimum supervision
Must be able to solve practical problems, interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Must be knowledgeable in safety regulations and be safety conscious

Preferred

Certified pool operator license is preferred
