Responsibilities

Transcribe a history, physical exam, patient instructions, disposition, and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present

Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation

Navigate the electronic medical record proficiently

Demonstrate excellent time management, organization, and communication skills (written and verbal)

Maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing regulations

Qualification

Required

Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surgery, diagnostic tests, pharmacology and the various medical specialties

Professional appearance and conduct

Understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation

Knowledge of organizational policies and computer applications

Proficiently navigates the electronic medical record

Excellent time management, organization and communication skills (written and verbal)

Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing regulations

Preferred

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of a medical terminology course or one year medical terminology experience in a clinical setting
