Responsibilities

Develop technical specifications and conceptual designs for the new and upgraded rail vehicles and the on-board systems

Participate in the design review meetings and technical working sessions with the carbuilders and equipment suppliers

Review electrical and electro-mechanical designs, prepare detailed descriptions of review findings

Direct and/or participate in the new equipment qualification efforts at supplier facilities and on the trains including functional testing, electrical performance, environmental, and electromagnetic compatibility

Prepare and/or review rail vehicle and vehicle on-board systems test procedures

Hands-on engineering work with the rail transit vehicles, including testing, investigations of equipment malfunctions, and condition assessments

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in the rail transit vehicle electrical systems design and deployment and related fields

General knowledge of vehicle electrical circuitry design rules and concepts

Ability to work independently on related specification, design, investigation, and testing tasks

Understanding of traction and auxiliary power converters

Understanding of ethernet networking fundamentals

Understanding of on-board communication & infotainment systems

Hands-on test instrumentation capabilities

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work well in a team environment
