Staff Metallics Materials & Process Engineer

They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Metallics Materials & Process Engineer to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of their aircraft components and systems by leading metallic materials selection and process development.

Responsibilities
Serve as the M&P lead for metallic material selection and processes for aluminum, steel, titanium, and other alloys
Review and advise on metallic part and assembly drawings
Provide design guidelines for corrosion prevention
Author & support material & process specifications, test plans, test reports, and design guides
Support Wisk Production through non-conformance dispositions, failure analysis, root cause investigations, and correct active recommendations
Support evaluation and auditing of metallic part suppliers
Qualification
Required
Requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience
Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related
Strong knowledge of aerospace alloys, their usage and application, including machining and forming processes, and heat treatment
Strong knowledge of corrosion types, causes and corrosion control processes and procedures, such as chemical conversion, anodizing, and primer/topcoat application to metallic and/or metallic/composite assemblies
Working knowledge of MMPDS and its usage
Experience with mechanical fastening systems, requirements, design considerations, structural sizing, and analysis techniques
Experience developing test plans, specifications, and qualifications of metallic materials and processes
Experience supporting manufacturing environment, including disposition of hardware non-conformances
Background in metallurgy, metallographic evaluation, fracture mechanics, failure analysis techniques and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods
Familiar with FAA regulations, Industry Standards (ASTM's, AMS, Mil Specs)
