Mechanical Engineering Intern

Kingscott Associates is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to provide exposure to the day-to-day operations of their organization. The intern will assist with engineering projects, support design work, and collaborate with team members to gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

Responsibilities

Assist team members in the successful execution of engineering projects by conducting research, preparing reports, and contributing to project planning and management
Support the engineering team with design work using AutoCAD and SolidWorks; prior experience in these programs required
Collect and analyze engineering data to help make informed decisions and generate insights
Perform general administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing departmental records
Work closely with colleagues within your department and across other departments to achieve common goals and projects
Attend training sessions, workshops, and team meetings to gain a better understanding of our industry and company operations
Participate in special projects that provide exposure to different aspects of our business and help you develop a well-rounded skill set
Must have the ability to travel between 10 - 25% of the time for project needs; possibly including overnight stays
Assist in mechanical design calculations, HVAC system layout, and equipment selection
Support engineers in the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and reports
Collaborate with external vendors to obtain product information and specifications
Attend site visits to assist in field data collection and verification
Maintain flexibility in managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks accordingly
Ability to attend meetings, supporting with note-taking and documentation of discussions and action items

Required

Current Mechanical Engineering student pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Junior or Senior level student preferred
Prior experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in mechanical design software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Ability to travel between 10 - 25% of the time for project needs

Preferred

Prior engineering internship experience preferred
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and diverse teams
Proficiency in engineering design software and other relevant tools
