Intern - Maternal Child Health (Summer)
The State of South Dakota's Department of Health is focused on promoting health and preventing illness. The Maternal Child Health Intern will assist with educational material development, research for policy updates, and collaboration on special projects related to maternal and child health services.

Responsibilities
Reviewing and developing educational materials for partners and/or the public
Research to support policy updates, quality improvement projects, and trainings for staff that provide direct services to clients
Assist with the development of a Youth Advisory Committee
Assisting staff to gather information for the development of state and federal grant reports
Collaborate with staff and partners on special projects and initiatives
Qualification
Required
APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER
Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply
By the start of the internship, the student should have completed one year (nine months) of their chosen program
Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with a standing of junior/senior
Preference may be given to South Dakota residents
Preference may be given to students of South Dakota institutions
