Solutions Engineer - Transportation Systems [REMOTE]
Iteris, Inc. is a provider of smart mobility infrastructure management solutions, and they are seeking a Solutions Engineer to support their sales organization with technical expertise. This role focuses on enabling transportation agencies to adopt Iteris technologies that improve traffic safety and optimize operations.

Responsibilities
Support pre-sales activities by delivering technical discovery, solution design, and customer-facing presentations across Iteris’ ITS sensor hardware, CV2X platforms, and cloud-based analytics tools
Participate in proposal development, RFP responses, pricing inputs, and pilot deployment planning
Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with agency goals, funding strategies, and project scopes
Engage as a technical generalist across Iteris' portfolio, while knowing when to bring in deeper subject matter experts
Provide input on solution configuration, compatibility, and field requirements
Conduct product demonstrations, lead technical discussions, and help educate agency stakeholders on solution capabilities
Maintain activity records in Salesforce (training provided if needed)
Deliver customer feedback and market insights to help evolve product and go-to-market strategies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering, transportation systems, computer science, or related field; equivalent experience accepted
PE license or ITS certification/accreditation is a strong plus
Over five (5) years in a solutions engineering, pre-sales, or technical consulting role; public sector or transportation domain experience strongly preferred
Strong working knowledge of intelligent transportation systems (ITS), connected vehicle technologies, or mobility software platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to engineers, operators, and executives
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platform is a plus (training available)
Analytical problem-solver with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, startup-style environment
