Operations Intern

The Operations Intern will support Continuous Improvement initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while assisting with process improvements and operational performance enhancements.

Responsibilities

Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies
Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement
Support Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, and Production
Document current and future state processes using tools such as value stream mapping or process flow diagrams
Participate in time studies, line balancing, and workstation optimization
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations

Required

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other CI tools is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Self-starter with a passion for process improvement and operational excellence

Preferred

Prior internship or hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or manufacturing execution systems (MES)
Experience with data analysis tools such as Minitab, Power BI, or Python
Knowledge of safety and quality standards in manufacturing (e.g., ISO, OSHA)
Certification or coursework in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Yellow Belt or higher)
