Responsibilities
Responsible for performing the annual risk analysis of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
Implements and manages GAP (Good Agriculture Practices) audits
Assures compliance, phytosanitary and legal requirements, and quality control on products delivered to customers
Maintains procedures, instructions and specifications updated and available
Track controls to assure quality procedures are followed, and report when they are not being followed and affecting quality
Maintains traceability at all production stages to assure data integration for all plant products
Assures and maintains quality and biosafety plant improvement programs
Assures the maintenance of QA systems and programs to meet audit criteria
Track and promote production plant training in topics such as Sanitation, Pest Control, SOPs, and others
Assures all plants production are following national and international regulations
Research and implement solutions to resolve quality issues
Qualification
Required
Requires a bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Engineering or another related field
Requires 3+ years of experience including hands-on quality management and safety
General knowledge of quality assurance programs, such as Global Gap or ISO 9001, HACCP, FSSC220000, SQF or other related programs
Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to provide detailed reporting using Excel spreadsheets
Requires general database knowledge and the ability to gain a high level of familiarity with SAP Business One within 6 months
Ability to take initiative; excellent time management, organizational, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills
Ability to collaborate with other team members, develop strong relationships, and maintain a positive attitude. Must be able to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively present information in formal and informal settings
Preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Experience working with integrated ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as SAP Business One
Experience working for a nursery or other agricultural business
Experience in 17025 Lab Accreditation
