Responsibilities

Perform research directed in the areas of environmental remediation and waste management of radionuclides
Safely handle chemicals and operate analytical equipment to produce quality results as directed
Generate technical reports including monthly, quarterly and year end reports pertaining to the designated subtasks
Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Analyze and summarize data, present at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals (IF greater than 3.0)
Train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the laboratory
Participate in the development of proposals for additional funding in relevant research areas
Perform other related duties as assigned or directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position

Required

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Environmental Engineering, chemistry, Material Science, or a related discipline
Records of publications in highly respected national and international journals
Experience in researching fate and transport of contaminants in the subsurface
Experience in environmental remediation technologies
Experience in process design for hazardous or radioactive waste disposal
Experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory
Handling low levels of radioactivity
Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment
