Senior Project Engineer/Manager, Wastewater

Responsibilities

Developing technical treatment strategies, selecting treatment processes, developing process design criteria, and delivering projects
Supporting and developing proposal development
Helping to identify, hire, supervise and mentor junior wastewater staff
Direct coordination and collaboration with clients
Coordination with internal technical specialists in all practice areas and discipline design professionals for project delivery
Managing projects to meet client expectations, budgets, and quality requirements
Following internal Hazen processes to ensure quality delivery of engineering projects for clients
Technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments on small to medium projects
Performing planning, studies, design, and support of projects through design, construction, and operation
Evaluate progress of the project staff and results obtained and recommend changes to achieve overall project objectives

Required

At least 12 years of experience in wastewater engineering
Experience with project management or the desire to grow into a project management role
Experience in successfully delivering projects spanning multiple years in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
Experience in planning, design, and construction for water and wastewater treatment facilities
Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
Self-starter with attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Must be able to present complex issues to nontechnical people
Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in California

Preferred

Greater than 12 years of experience with wastewater treatment projects for clients
A Master's Degree or PHD in Civil/Environmental Engineering
