Processing Technician, Satellite Integration (2nd Shift), Amazon Leo
Amazon is launching its low Earth orbit satellite network, Amazon Leo, to provide reliable internet connectivity. The Processing Technician will lead junior technicians in integrating and testing the Kuiper satellite, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards during the assembly and installation processes.

Responsibilities
Can apply a deep understanding of a broad range of tools, equipment, and handling machinery to accomplish your daily tasks effectively and efficiently
Upholds all safety requirements in all zones and work locations of responsibility
Assists in the development of new and junior team members and adheres to standards and procedures
Independently execute and prioritize work to meet production schedules
Integration and test of the Kuiper satellite and various complex sub-assemblies in a clean-room and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controlled environment
Rigging and critical lifts of bulky, sensitive flight hardware
Able to obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits, and/or certifications as required
Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multi-meters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions
Run functional and environmental testing on units, including some basic troubleshooting operations
Use computer software programs for controlling tests
Check and inspect your work after completion to ensure engineering and quality standards are met per the drawing and work instruction requirements
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities
Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure an efficient, safe and effective work environment
Willing to work overtime and weekends as required
Shift will be primarily on second-shift but shift schedule may vary, depending on production/launch schedules
Must be willing and able to perform extended travel up to 25% annually, either domestically or internationally as business needs demand
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in mechanical hardware assembly, test, and/or installation
Able to obtain and maintain a US Passport & must meet customs entry requirements to include but not limited to: Yellow Fever vaccine and other immunization requirements as recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Ability to pass Kennedy Space Center background checks

Preferred
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Experience in aerospace, automotive, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environments
Experience in a fast-paced processing environment
Experience working with Foreign Object Debris (FOD), ESD sensitive hardware, and in a clean room
Experience with forklifts, cranes, rigging, and heavy equipment (including previous certifications)
A demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, work instructions and standard operating procedures
Ability to use multiple types of precision measuring instruments
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
Able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive assembly operations
Able to climb ladders, work in tight spaces, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
Able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted
