The Senior Staff/Principal Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for advancing the Orb's software to enhance its performance and scalability, working on various projects including software porting and optimization.

Responsibilities
Play a key role in advancing the Orb’s software to reach new levels of scale, decentralization, and performance
Port software to Android-based systems
Optimize image capture/processing code
Support software verifiability
Own all software running on the Orb, including the biometric imaging system, on-device fraud detection, and a security-hardened operating system
Support manufacturing, test automation, and hardware bring-up
Qualification
Required
Experience using Rust and Linux in real-world applications
10+ years experience in systems programming, robotics, IoT devices, or related fields
Experience shipping software to large fleets of devices
Experience with building AOSP based devices and integrating hardware platform specific HALs
Experience building security-critical applications
Excellent communication and project management skills
