This leadership role involves overseeing comprehensive internal audit services across the university, providing strategic vision for risk management, internal controls, and governance processes while advising senior leadership and the Board.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive risk-based audit strategy aligned with institutional objectives

Optimize audit methodologies to enhance institutional effectiveness while maintaining independence and objectivity

Develop annual and long-range audit planning and ongoing communication with senior leadership and the Board of Trustees regarding institutional risks and audit outcomes

Enhance enterprise governance frameworks and compliance oversight across all university operations

Lead a team of three professional audit staff with expertise in general auditing, IT auditing, and data analytics

Modernize audit methodologies through data analytics and continuous monitoring technologies

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or related field

15+ years professional auditing experience with 7-10 years in audit management

CIA and/or CPA certification

Demonstrated leadership in higher education, healthcare or other complex organizational environments

Skilled at leveraging audit technology, data analytics tools, and continuous monitoring techniques to enhance audit effectiveness and efficiency

Preferred

Master's degree

CISA and/or CRMA certifications
