Zoox is seeking an experienced fullstack engineer to lead the development of web services that support the creation and maintenance of HD maps for their fleet. This role involves owning and architecting backend services, supporting frontend tool development, and mentoring team members on web technologies.

Responsibilities

Own and architect backend services (FastAPI) for the HD Mapping team's web infrastructure
Support development of frontend tools for interacting with Zoox’s maps
Automate complex pipelines and workflows
Mentor team members on web technologies and distributed systems

Required

Strong experience in backend development and distributed systems
Comfortable establishing guidelines and refactoring existing code to follow best practices

Experience with FastAPI, Kubernetes, and ArgoCD
Knowledge of geospatial data and coordinate systems
Experience automating complex workflows (Airflow)
