Responsibilities
Drive architectural decisions and set the technical strategy for key platform initiatives, particularly those involving AI-driven talent matching
Architect, build, and maintain scalable, robust, and maintainable systems. Design and implement core platform capabilities and new AI-powered features
Mentor other engineers, elevate the team's technical discourse, and champion engineering best practices for system reliability and performance
Work closely with product managers to shape technical strategy, partner with data scientists to implement and optimize AI/ML models, and collaborate with security teams to ensure global compliance
Write high-quality, production-ready code, with a mandatory, expert-level proficiency in both Python and Ruby on Rails
Qualification
Required
10+ years of professional software engineering experience
Expert-level proficiency in both Python AND Ruby on Rails
7+ years of technical leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving complex, cross-functional projects
Strong background in designing, building, and scaling distributed systems and complex, scalable architectures (e.g., marketplace platforms)
A 'startup mindset': Ideal candidates may have experience in a startup, moved to a larger company, and are now looking to return to a high-growth, high-ownership environment
Demonstrated stability in previous roles (no 'job-hoppers')
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Based in the United States
Preferred
Experience with AI/ML platform development, talent matching algorithms, or recommendation systems
Experience with large-scale data processing and analytics
Familiarity with global compliance and data privacy requirements (e.g., GDPR)
Academic background from top-tier computer science programs (e.g., MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Stanford, Georgia Tech)
Experience working in fully distributed, remote teams
A track record of publishing technical content or speaking at conferences
