Hardware Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities
Provide Reliability Program Lab Coordination Support, including interfacing with Project Managers weekly, coordinating current active and triage efforts across Environmental Validation Labs
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, test, manufacturing) throughout the product lifecycle to ensure robust reliability and quality
Support the development and execution of environmental and reliability validation processes, procedures and plans, ensuring compliance with both Ford and industry standards
Participate in design reviews, providing expert guidance on reliability best practices and potential failure modes
Contribute to the continuous improvement of hardware reliability processes and methodologies
Analyze reliability data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions to enhance product performance and durability
Document and communicate technical findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
Lead and execute hardware reliability analysis, including Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Technology Engineering, Mechanical Technology Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Proven experience (3+ years) in electronic hardware reliability engineering, with a strong track record of success in applying DFMEA, PFMEA, and RCCA methodologies
Deep understanding of electronic component failure mechanisms and reliability prediction techniques
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Preferred
Master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
Experience with Jira and Confluence Atlassian Tools
Detailed understanding of Test System Design and Software Automation
5+ Years experience with automotive electronic modules and systems
Knowledge of industry standards. (e.g., AEC-Q, USCAR, ISO/IEC)
Laboratory Management and Certification experience. (ISO/IEC-17025 A2LA)
Experience with Liquid Chiller Systems and Temperature Chambers
5+ Years experience with environmental testing and validation procedures for automotive
Electronic PCB Assembly Inspection, Destructive and Chemical Analysis Processes. (IPC)
NI Software Automation Development experience. (LabView and TestStand)
5+ Years experience with D/FMEA processes. (5D/8D, RCCA, 5-Why)
Experience with Probabilistic Reliability and Bogey Testing
Failure Probability (Weibull) and Accelerated Life-Cycle testing
Statistical Data analysis (histogram / CPK) automation tools
Experience with RF communications test and design. (TDR /Cellular/GPS/WiFi/BT)
Detailed understanding of various technologies such as CAN, Automotive Ethernet (BroadR), Audio (i2S), Displays (LVDS) and Cameras
Network Expert with TCP/IP connectivity protocol standards knowledge base
Experience with embedded chip programming and software download into electronic modules
Knowledge of Surface Mount, Selective Solder, Underfill, Conformal-Coat processes
Experience working with dynamic RF front-end designs and Qualcomm tool sets
