765kv Line Design Engineer thru Senior

Responsibilities
Produce engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and bills of material for transmission line construction projects in accordance with Company practices while meeting appropriate performance standards. This will require the use of engineering disciplines and practices
Power Line Systems - Computer Aided Design and Drafting (PLS-CADD) modeling, structure analysis and loading trees, developing design criteria, sag-tension calculations, wire blowout, swing angle, damper recommendations, structure spotting, clearance reports, wire selection, etc
Job includes steel, concrete or lattice tower design; foundation designs using drilled pier, stub angle, and/or direct embed; determining proper sag, tension, swing calculation and thermal characteristics of bare, overhead conductors
Prepare budgetary cost estimates and Work Authorizations to obtain financial approval for assigned projects
Communicate, coordinate, and interface with other areas and groups of the Company and with others external to the Company to assure that line designs and construction practices are appropriate
Provide design solutions and engineering designs as requested to resolve line performance problems
Provide technical assistance to Transmission operations and maintenance organizations
Develop expertise in electrical subject matter associated with designing transmission lines
Other duties may be assigned directly or through others as needed or required including but not limited to, customer engagement and/or customer related driven projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Civil, and/or Mechanical Engineering and 1+ years of PLS-CADD modeling experience required
Basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Ability to apply analysis to identify the best solution to a technical problem, and to effectively communicate and commit to a course of action that is consistent with all legal, regulatory, code, standard, or other requirements as well as corporate policies and procedures
Must have a general understanding of processes and clearance requirements associated with transmission line design
Must be flexible, have organizational skills, and multi-task skills to handle diverse types of work
Must effectively work across disciplines and functions to achieve common goals and company business purposes
Ability to work independently and on a team
Capable of working with people of divergent backgrounds
Preferred
Applicants capable of being licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas encouraged to apply
Applicants with experience with the Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) progress encouraged to apply
3+ years of PLS-CADD modeling and 1+ years of PLS-Pole and/or PLS-Tower modelling experience required for Staff Engineer
5+ years of PLS-CADD modeling experience and 3+ years of PLS-Pole and/or PLS-Tower modelling experience required for Senior Engineer
Additionally, 2+ years of Project Management experience managing large scale projects or initiatives required for Senior Engineer
Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) for Staff Engineer
Expert knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) for Senior Engineer
