Architectural Engineer - Electrical

The Electrical Engineer III will lead the design and engineering of electrical systems for architectural building projects, manage project budgets, and mentor junior team members while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Design electrical systems for building projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure coordinated and constructible designs
Prepare calculations (power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop) and design documentation (one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications)
Coordinate with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers
Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports
Manage electrical design budgets and direct work on small to medium-sized projects
Assist in proposal development under senior engineer guidance
Conduct site walks and field surveys to identify non-compliant conditions
Create internal training presentations on electrical design topics
Use BIM platforms and Microsoft Office to execute work
Lead quality assurance efforts and drive overall project quality
Mentor junior engineers and designers
Participate in professional development activities and client meetings

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Experience in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm
Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration in good standing

Preferred

Experience in a design firm environment
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments
Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, IEEE)
Strong coordination skills across disciplines and with construction partners
Ability to perform intermediate-level design calculations with limited supervision
Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting
Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and equipment
Willingness to travel for client development, project execution, and training
