Responsibilities
Stocking shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise
Setting up displays or arranging merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales
Checking and organizing merchandise
Answering customer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise
Taking inventory of stock
May have responsibility in ordering merchandise
Cleaning the store, dusting merchandise on shelves, sweeping floor, emptying trash
Qualification
Required
Exceptional customer service skills
Ability to develop product knowledge and selling skills
Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
Ability to lift or move merchandise
Math skills to count merchandise and price product
Cooperative and willing to work as a team
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to stand on a concrete floor
Talking and hearing are required
Ability to frequently walk to get merchandise and reach with hands and arms to move and shelve merchandise
Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
Ability to occasionally sit; climb or balance; and stoop or kneel
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
