Pipeline Integrity Engineer

They are seeking a Pipeline Integrity Engineer to manage pipeline integrity projects and provide technical support across various pipeline systems while ensuring compliance with regulations and company standards.

Responsibilities
Efficiently oversee the planning, scheduling, management, and reporting of multiple capital and maintenance projects across various deadlines and levels of responsibility. Such projects include new pipeline construction, pipeline replacement, inline inspection, pipeline integrity remediation, pressure testing, compression, automation and controls, measurement, corrosion, gas processing, pipeline interconnects, encroachments etc
Develop project scope documents while tracking, managing, and reporting any increases and decreases to project scope
Manage several contractors and consultants simultaneously such as inspectors, engineering consultants, surveyors, material suppliers, general contractors, Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) contractors, line stopping and hot tapping contractors, cross compression contractors, In-Line Inspection (ILI) consultants, etc
Engineer pipeline and facility designs for small projects such as pipeline replacements, pipeline re-routes, pig traps, and minor station piping modifications
Oversight and engineering of pipeline defect assessments and repairs
Develop project schedules, cost estimates and budget forecasts as required with minimal direction from supervisor
Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) bid documents for construction projects and materials, etc., conduct bid process, prepare detailed bid analysis, select successful contractor
Provide technical expertise to various internal and external customers and provide engineering and project management support to field operations as necessary
Provide technical guidance on the application of industry codes and standards as well as federal regulations governing hazardous pipeline design and construction
Develop and/or update Company engineering, material and equipment specifications and standards
Manage projects per Company and OSHA safety standards and Company engineering, construction and operating/maintenance standards and procedures
Collect, review, organize and publish project and compliance related documentation into project job books that will be audited by regulatory agencies and retained for the life of the asset
Participate in design reviews for large capital projects as required
Participate in industry research groups as required
Collaborate with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
Communicate clearly and effectively, both in person and over the phone, demonstrating strong verbal skills and active listening
Regular, dependable work attendance and a fully competent level of performance is expected
Will work non-traditional hours as needed
Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public
Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering
Manager's discretion will determine the starting field engineering level (III or Sr) based on direct work experience. Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate
Intermediate proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)
Knowledge of the natural gas and oil transmission industry, pipeline/facilities design, construction, operation and testing
Proficiency in basic engineering skills
Proficiency in basic project management skills
Familiarity and ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&IDs)
Familiarity with pipeline and facility design calculations and equations
Familiarity and ability to read and interpret basic GIS information and maps
Knowledge of ROW, EHS and regulatory clearances for pipeline projects
Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
Ability to organize and prioritize work to successfully perform work on simultaneous projects and tasks to meet deadlines
Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate
Minimal safety hazards; general office working conditions
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, touch, handle, or feel. The employee is required to talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Ability to work in varying, sometimes extreme, weather conditions as needed during field work
Field activities may include walking to and amidst work and/or construction sites, climbing in and out of trenches, working around heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
Frequent overnight travel may be required
Overtime and/or extended work hours may be required depending on the project
Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours
The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed
Preferred
Specific experience in project management, engineering, design and construction of pipeline, compressor, and meter station facilities
Knowledge of pipeline operation
Knowledge and experience with pipeline and facility pressure testing
Knowledge and experience with stress engineering calculations
Knowledge and experience with Over Pressure Protection (OPP) sizing and review
Knowledge and experience with welding procedures application, welder and procedure qualification
Familiarity with weld inspection, visual and NDE such as RT, MT, UT, and PT
Experience and knowledge of pipeline integrity, ILI tool runs and pipeline defect assessment and repair
Familiarity with Remaining Strength (RSTRENG) calculations and programs
Experience in investigation and root-cause determination of pipeline and equipment failures
Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Knowledge and/or application experience with industry standards (DOT 49CFR192 and 195, API, ASME B31.8, B31.8S, B31.4, B31.3, Section VIII, Section IX, all the B16's, ANSI, NACE, NEC, MSS-SP-44, SP-75, SP-97, etc.)
