Thermal Equipment Design Staff Engineer

The Thermal Equipment Design Staff Engineer will provide leadership in planning and coordinating complex projects related to thermal equipment design, ensuring sound engineering principles are applied throughout the process.

Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership on one or more projects. Primary technical leadership on thermal equipment projects
Propose, plan (scope), and implement projects requiring engineering analysis
Comprehend and apply sound engineering principles in the design of thermally functioning process equipment
Application of engineering principles primarily in the fields of mechanical design, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics. Use of numerical and physical modeling
Collaboration with scientists and process experts as part of the engineering process
Collaboration with manufacturing operations to further define and receive new and modified process equipment
Recommend/implement improvements to mechanical equipment
Equipment installation supervision and on-site commissioning as required
Coordinate with project managers and other team members to meet project goals
Effectively communicate plans, progress, and problems to all concerned parties
Develop and update engineering documentation
Must be available for significant travel, primarily domestic, to multiple locations to support business needs. International travel could be required as well
Qualification
Required
BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering. Chemical may be considered
Minimum 5 years of project, engineering, and design experience
Experience working in manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong technical fundamentals with thermal equipment
Preferred
Knowledge of modeling for flow, thermal, and structural analysis, etc
Experience with Solid Works, AutoCAD, Fluent, ANSYS, COMSOL, GOMA, etc
