Responsibilities

Help us grow, globally scale, and continuously improve our product offerings

Partner with product managers, engineers, and designers to identify and mitigate legal risks in product design, development, and go-to-market strategies

Deliver clear, practical legal advice relating to regulatory, privacy, and consumer protection laws to our product, technology, insurance, and marketing teams across multiple jurisdictions

Draft and review terms, disclaimers, and consumer policies (e.g., user terms, consent flows, data usage statements, in-product messaging), complying with international insurance distribution regulations, privacy laws and related rights, including recent AI, privacy and security reforms and proposed regulations

Establish effective relationships with business partners and peers to understand their business drivers and strategic priorities and to improve legal awareness and enable proactive issue spotting

Develop internal frameworks and playbooks for product/legal reviews to enable scalable legal guidance for fast-moving teams

Monitor evolving legal and regulatory trends in insurtech, fintech, and digital platforms and translate them into actionable guidance for the product roadmap

Required

J.D. and a license to practice law in the State of California

6+ years of experience in-house or at a law firm

Experience with global privacy and data security laws and regulations

Experience supporting product launches

A people person with excellent verbal and written communication skills

Able to work in a fast paced workplace/company, complying with short internal SLAs

Able to multitask and prioritize work

Preferred

Familiarity with insurance regulatory frameworks
