Responsibilities

Lead definition of technical strategies and solutions within the AMP business segment
Develop technical roadmaps and hold final technical authority over design, production, installation, and activation of systems
Work closely with Business Development to understand customer needs and present conceptual solutions
Drive implementation of design-to-cost processes and optimize these processes to enhance competitiveness

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related technical field
At least 10 years of related leadership experience in development and delivery of undersea military systems
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire – active and transferable
U.S. citizenship is required
Ability to travel is required. Travel is estimated at 30% to 40%

Preferred

Experienced Systems architect with broad background in various engineering disciplines (e.g., systems, mechanical, electrical, software, cyber security)
Experience with underwater vehicle design, development, integration and test including hydrodynamics, buoyancy and stability, hull structure and materials, propulsion and control, energy systems, and payload integration
Expertise with underwater vehicle technologies including autonomy, navigation, sonar, batteries, and communications (acoustic, RF, optical)
Experience with analyzing and processing data from autonomous undersea vehicles and weapon systems (e.g., vehicle motion, navigation, communications, and acoustic sensors) to evaluate performance and resolve technical issues, including knowledge of acoustic signal processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence
Experience with full engineering lifecycle of complex military systems including concept development, requirements specification, detailed design, integration, test, verification, validation, production, logistics, training, sustainment, and obsolescence management
Proven ability to engage and influence customers, understand requirements, present candidate solutions, and adapt solutions to align with evolving needs
Development and implementation of technology roadmaps in support of mission objectives, including planning and oversight of Independent Research and Development (IRAD) activities aligned with these objectives
Demonstrated success as technical lead on competitive white papers and proposals containing significant engineering development and manufacturing content
Excellent oral and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to clearly present technical concepts to customer and company leadership, both technical and programmatic
Experience assessing and managing technical risks and leading the investigation and resolution of high priority technical issues on critical, high visibility programs
Demonstrated success leading large, distributed, and multi-disciplinary engineering teams in developing and delivering cost-effective solutions to customer problems
Experience with Navy weapon system safety requirements and safety review boards
Experience with Navy equipment and procedures pertaining to the deployment and operation of autonomous undersea vehicles and weapon systems
