GI Technician (Registry 8 hrs)
Humboldt Park Health is seeking a GI Technician to provide delegated patient care under the supervision of an RN. The role involves assisting in patient assessments, implementing care plans, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards in the gastroenterology setting.

Responsibilities
Assists in data collection to identify the patient’s needs, problems, concerns or human responses, i.e. Vital signs
Assisting, under the direction of the GI Registered Nurse, in the implementation of the established plan of care
Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, co-workers and physicians, identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family, and manages and operate equipment safely and correctly
Consults other departments as needed and as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs
Assisting the physician and GI Registered Nurse before, during and after diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Providing and maintaining a safe environment for the patient and staff by complying with regulatory agency requirements and standards set forth by professional organizations and employers
Complies with ethical, professional and legal standards inherent in patient care and professional conduct, e.g., patient’s bill of rights
Participates in quality management activities as directed, understands practice issues and continues to stay educated in the field of gastroenterology
Collaborates with the gastroenterology team and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality and continuity of care
Follows regulatory bodies and the SGNA on the proper method to clean, disinfect and store endoscopes
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 1 year of GI Lab experience
High School/GED required
