Senior Manager, Proposal Development and Reporting
Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) is committed to addressing food security through education, training, and collaboration. The Senior Manager, Proposal Development & Reporting, will develop high-quality proposals and reports to showcase CAFB’s impact and help raise funds from institutional donors.

Responsibilities
Lead the writing and production of high-quality, customized proposals, LOIs, and concept papers (including written documents and decks) for corporate and foundation donors, ranging from mid-size to multi-million-dollar requests
Help to steward CAFB’s relationships with 20-40 foundation and corporate donors, by ensuring consistent, high-quality written materials and touchpoints
Collaborate with development staff, program staff, finance, and grants management to gather and integrate data, narratives, and budget details into compelling donor-centered proposals
Manage workflows for all proposals, including intake, task assignments and tracking
Maintain and expand CAFB’s proposal content library, developing boilerplate language and knowledge resources to streamline writing and ensure consistency across materials
Proofread and edit proposals and other fundraising-related materials to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with CAFB’s voice
Draft interim and final donor reports that highlight impact, outcomes, and alignment with funder expectations
Review, edit, and refine fundraising-related communications, including newsletters, invitations, stewardship letters, and other materials to ensure factual accuracy and alignment with fundraising messaging and partnership narratives
Provide writing and editing support for stewardship touchpoints, donor updates, and cultivation communications
Draft correspondence and proposals on behalf of senior leaders, ensuring consistent messaging and a high level of polish
Stay informed on trends in foundation and corporate funding as well as on community issues that may impact CAFB or create opportunities for funding
Research and stay aware of potential regional and national funding opportunities for CAFB, helping to build the institutional prospect pipeline
Support the team by effectively managing your workload, planning and prioritizing activities, and developing structures and tools to achieve team goals
Model the behavior you wish to see in others; energize the people around you, foster engagement, and create a trusting atmosphere
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in grant writing, presentations, partnership development, and institutional fundraising, with a strong track record of success with foundations and/or corporations
Demonstrated ability to write compelling proposals and reports tailored to diverse funders
Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems
Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
Preferred
Strategic thinker with strong project management and organizational skills
Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, persuasive narratives
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
