Responsibilities
Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex layout and design drawings utilizing theoretical and practical design knowledge
Performs complex drafting tasks efficiently and accurately both independently and as part of a team
Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures
Understands and utilizes more advanced software to complete assignments
Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated designs
Meets layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts as required
Prepares reinforcing details, bar schedules, and bill of materials
May assist in inspections of existing bridges and other structures under construction
Reviews supplier data and supplier drawings, as required
Develops and reviews orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings
Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor
Provides input and technical guidance for mentoring lower-level Designers working on the same and other projects
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Qualification
Required
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited technical institute (or equivalent)
10+ years of related structural and bridge drafting experience
Proficiency in Microstation ORD/ORB and AutoCAD
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and/or Bluebeam
Time management, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Located in or near St. Louis, Missouri
