Responsibilities

Supervising and coordinating all shipboard requirements
Managing the performance of their crew of O&M Technician crew members
Serving as the senior contractor onboard the ship supporting IOSC and the contractor
Standing watch in the SURTASS Operations Center (SOC) onboard SURTASS vessels to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair SURTASS mission equipment to support Fleet requirements, including maintaining all required records and logs and monitoring and sending record Naval Message Traffic
Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all SURTASS mission equipment in accordance with the PMS and other reference documents, as required
Utilizing the WILD trouble ticket application to log all maintenance trouble tickets for action in the JSN/WKRQ log, which shall include all applicable labor, external technical assistance, parts, and time expended
Maintaining an accurate logistics inventory as provided by the Government, and provide periodic updates to the Product Support Facility (PSF)
Operating the shipboard test equipment pool used with SURTASS mission equipment, including ensuring it is in calibration through early and frequent coordination with the PSF
Maintaining a technical library on each ship to support all SURTASS mission equipment
Submitting required reports in accordance with the SURTASS SOP, and other directives

Required

Requires an associate's degree in computer science, electronics technology, or be a graduate of US Navy electronics 'C' school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school; Curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of: VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment, networks, communications system, navigation system and/or sonar system
Five (5) years of experience managing personnel
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required within 12 months
Requires travel/underway periods of up to 90 days at a time
U.S. citizenship as well as, a U.S. government security clearance at the top secret / SCI level

Preferred

Four (4) years of practical hands-on experience in the operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of secure networks and communications systems, navigations systems, and sonar systems
Experience with SURTASS mission systems is highly desired
