Responsibilities

Meeting with customers to discuss their cabling needs

Mapping out the area and assessing equipment requirements

Installing cables in homes and offices

Identifying and removing old or redundant cables

Troubleshooting cable and network issues

Assisting with the setup of equipment, including televisions, routers, telephones, and computers

Troubleshooting cable and equipment malfunctions

Providing basic operating instructions

Completing job reports

Maintaining stock levels at the office and in the vehicle

Qualification

Required

High school diploma or GED

Previous work experience as a cable technician, cable installer or electrical construction duties preferred

Advanced knowledge of telecommunication systems and electrical equipment preferred

Knowledge of electrical systems

Work involves moderate physical effort with frequent need to get into difficult positions, including small spaces, heights on a lift, endure long periods of standing or walking and occasional need to move objects without assistance. Requires physical ability to perform all job functions including ability to walk, push, bend, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, carry, lift, and climb
