Project Architect - Mission Critical

Responsibilities
Responsible for small to large projects of high complexity
The technical portion of the project including discipline coordination and providing technical direction to the design team
Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating
Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies
Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details
Participate in bidding and negotiation phase and prepares addenda
Lead the construction administration phase with the design team, including but not limited to reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks
Assist in the preparation and coordination of specs with construction documents
Participate in constructability review
Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Architecture
Professional licensure required, California preferred
Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a broad range of phase experience
Strong Revit skills, familiarity with clash coordination strategies a plus
Passion for and experience with Mission Critical and similar building types
Requisite knowledge and application of accessibility codes, applicable building codes
Knowledge of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards
Strong understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications
Conduct space planning, block planning and adjacencies in coordination with building program
Develop floor plans, wall sections, and details
Check work of others for accuracy and completeness
Lead a team through all phases of architectural document production
Participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of architectural document production
Engage in creative and critical thought
Hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively
Interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material
Communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written)
Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Revit
Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record
Preferred
AutoCAD, Abobe Creative Suite, Grasshopper./Rhino, and/or Sketchup a plus
