Sarasota County Government is seeking a Program Coordinator to oversee the counties Homeless and Poverty System. The role involves providing support to advance strategic initiatives and drive positive change in the community, focusing on data analysis and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Conduct analysis to identify deficiencies in the human services system relating to homelessness and poverty in Sarasota County

Assist with developing and implementing recommendations for improvement, including prevention and diversion programs for homeless individuals from other costly systems (i.e., criminal justice, behavioral health, and emergency medical services)

Provide technical assistance in the area of homeless and poverty prevention programs

Create networks and coalitions to promote community collaboration, obtain public input, and enhance partnerships in the human services system, specifically in the area of homeless and poverty prevention

Provide technical expertise to County Administration and act as a liaison with community leaders, funders, other government agencies, and provider agencies on homeless and poverty issues

Participate in and assist the Suncoast Partnership to End Homelessness (SPEH), SPEH’s Continuum of Care Work Group, and Office of Housing and Community Development

Author and manage homeless and poverty prevention grants, including but not limited to the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Business, Finance, Planning, Industrial/Engineering Technology, or a job-related field AND Three (3) years of professional job-related experience

OR- 7 years of professional job-related experience in the management of technical projects/programs and strategic planning

Preferred

Master's Degree in a job-related field
