The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a camera algorithm engineer to help us push the limits of the next generation of spatial media, working on key technologies and frameworks that enable media experiences on Vision Pro and future AR/VR products.

Responsibilities
Prototyping algorithms for existing and future products. Applications may include HDR, image fusion, denoising, image stitching, or similar
Implementing spatial capture features using a combination of GPU, CPU, and neural coprocessor components. Collaborating with other engineers to deliver a feature that is both qualitatively striking and performant
Working on a shipping and complex media processing system with stringent runtime and power constraints
Collaboratively iterating with Image and Video Quality experts, and building tooling to accelerate their workflows
Design and develop media processing software frameworks and SDKs for Apple Vision Pro and new AR/VR products
Presenting results clearly and discussing algorithms both quantitatively and qualitative
Qualification
Required
BS is computer science/EE or equivalent
5+ years of experience with software development
Experience with image and video processing
Excellent programming skills and proficient with one of the programming languages: C/C++, Objective-C, and Swift
Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
A strong focus on end user experience
Creative and collaborative approach to problem solving, and a drive to build products that surprise and delight
Preferred
Success shipping media products involving image and video processing, video capture/playback, or media processing pipeline is a plus
Familiarity with AR/VR technologies
Experience with iOS / macOS development
Experience with developing media SDKs, frameworks and customer facing APIs
Hands-on experience with core machine learning algorithms and tools
Experience with media formats (HEVC, H264, JPEG, etc)
